Today!!

Today as Mrs Smallbone arrived at our classroom there was two HUGE amazing Tui sitting either side of the steps! They stayed there as she walked through! One flew away but the other one sang and sang and then had it's photo taken!! What an amazing start to the day!!

Fizz and Pop! Science Thursday

A carbonate plus an acid equals....Carbon dioxide gas! and we got plenty of this during our experiments this afternoon!!

We learnt what happens when you mix tartaric acid, baking soda and water together...in a sealed plastic bag! Exciting!!

Term 4 Waimarino Canoe Centre

Term 4 is off to a great start!! We have heaps to learn!

This week was a treat, we went to Waimarino Canoe Centre. It was fantastic!!

Luckie says that "the best thing was being there!" Ivory thought that the huge water slide was the best! Shevez thought that being the first and ONLY person brave enough to go down the water slide in a kayak was the best!!

Today we learnt how to use photostory...check out our photos.

Term3

Well! It has been a while since we updated this blog...so busy! no time to blog! I want to include a link to our class wiki as this has been a focus since we got back from the holidays. On here we are learning to publish our literacy work. We are now using Literacy Circles as part of our reading program...this and really understanding what we still need to learn to be good readers should help us "get sorted"!

Student Led Conferences

Today we have our Student led conferences. We have all put a lot of work into preparing our Learning Journals and our classroom...just check out those CLEAN and TIDY desks!

We are learning to take responsiblity for our learning and to explain this to our parents. After the holidays we will set more goals for our learning. We try to be really detailed that way we know what it is we need to focus on. No time to waste in Room 17...there is HEAPS of learning to be done!!
